Professional Qualifications I trained at Braintree College, Essex, over a period of four years, gaining a Diploma in Counselling in 1998. In 2003 I became an Accredited Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. This process ensures that I work ethically and can demonstrate a sound and approved training, personal therapy and ongoing supervision of my work. It also ensures that I continue in ongoing professional development and is reviewed annually to allow my accreditation status to continue.
I undertook a one year Course in Casework Supervision from Havering College of Further Education in 2004 and have undertaken supervision of other counsellors since that time.
I was awarded the title of Senior Accredited Counsellor by the BACP in 2009.
I am an Individual Member of the United Kingdom Register of Counsellors and Psychotherapists.
I have worked as a counsellor in two general practitioner practices as well as counselling students in further education. I then went on to work as a counsellor at Bridge Counselling (formerly Bodey House) for a period of three and a half years as well as running a small private practice. I then made the decision to concentrate on building my private practice in a dedicated ground floor room set aside for counselling in my home in Halstead.
Prior to training as a counsellor, I have worked in various medical settings and later trained in garden design and landscaping.
